Also known as “wonderful city”. Rio is surrounded by beaches, mountains and a forest in the centre. It is one of the most important cultural and entertainment centers of the country, with theaters, museums and show houses. Its restaurants offer many options of food from typical Brazilian typical to international ones. The city also provides amazing sight seeings including two of the most famous one: Sugar Loaf and Corcovado.

SUGAR LOAF

Located at Praia Vermelha. It adorns the entrance of Guanabara Bay. Getting to Morro da Urca requires a cable car travelling 575m from Praia Vermelha to a height of 220m above the sea level, where you can have a dazzling view of the city. The second stage of the cable car covers 750m to the top of Sugar Loaf at a height of 396m. From there the visitors have a wonderful view over Niteroi Bay flanked by beaches and lagoons.

CORCOVADO - Cristo Redentor

Located at Tijuca National Park, the green of its mountain amazes with its exuberance. It was added to the scenery of Rio de Janeiro In 1931 with Redeemer Christ blessing the city. Access to Corcovado is by an electrical train that leaves from Cosme Velho travelling to a height of 710m. From its top, the visitors have a wonderful view over Guanabara bay, Botanical Garden and the centre of the city.

BEACHES

For the natives there’s nothing better than diving in the sea. Meeting friends, drinking coconut water or a cold beer turns the beach even more pleasant. People from different ages and nationalities gather to enjoy this natural beauty.

MARACANÃ

The word Maracanã comes from a Brazilian bird which belongs to the arara and parrot family. It is the biggest stadium in the world. Its official name, Journalist Mario Filho Stadium is restricted to official solemnities. It was build to gather the fans of important soccer teams and big events. This is the place of important achievements to Brazilian soccer as Pele’s thousand goal in 1969.

CARNIVAL

It is four days of pure entertainment and joy once a year. The biggest thematic event involves music which originates from African people, art, literature, colors and costumes. The exuberance of the famous samba schools parade makes Carnival quite unforgettable.
